Colourful Friends

There are a number of sayings that float around regarding friends, girfriends etc. But to have good friends, you need to be a good friend, and in these days of manic activity, just life passing you by, it is not always easy to catch up and chew the fat, pass on a bit of gossip, talk about the world, men, fashion and shoes (or in my case boots, as it is winter). My weekend in Auckland, the first since my move South, was promising to cover all the necessary topics albeit in a whirlwind! Friday night, girls, women, chicks (all around the 50 plus) got together and do what we have done for the last 20 years. As you would expect, not all your friends can be gathered in one place at one time, and I am blessed to have a truck load of great girlfriends, however on Friday I got together with a few!
We talk (alot) we laugh (alot) we dance (alot) we sing (alot) we drink (alot-well actually some do, some dont) but most of all we appreiate that we have such great friends, and our lives are enrichened by the friendship we share.
We do still dance the same, still love the same songs, all think we are better DJs than each other, and have the same funny habits with a couple of glasses of bubbles to help the swing! I love my girlfriends, they are an outstanding group of women, who share similar views, values and care about others, and that is what it is all about for me. Last Friday was courtesy of the great Jane Jackson, aka wacko jacko, tatie (and that is another whole story), where her annual girls night of whitebait fritters and champagne cocktails was a roaring success, of course topped by her dancing on her new kitchen bench, she is quite a showoff!! Laugh out Loud!!! (and we did)
Of course there were many other moments of hilarity, but my last entry is the two we all know who apparently thought they should be part of the crew for River Dance! To be honest it is not their first attempt at trying out for the stage, but certainly their latest!
Well the Duchess is Amberley is now back home, after a great weekend of friends, a terrific show (Jersey Boys) and a little bit of shopping (cos I dont have a job). Ciao.
